Thomas Slack received a BFA in photography from the University of Michigan. During school his major influences were working with Ernestine Ruben in Santa Fe, and Lisa Steichman in Ann Arbor; both of which helped him develop a great sense of color and form. Soon after graduation, Thomas interned in New York and London for fashion photographer Mario Testino. While interning, he assisted on ad campaigns for; Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, etc etc…
Since setting down in Chicago in 2002, Thomas has worked as a professional photographer for nearly ten years now. He travels all over the world, photographing weddings and portraits in Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, all across the continental US, and more.
Thomas is a volunteer photographer for Flashes of Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to photographing pediatric cancer patients at Chicago based hospitals and summer camps around the Chicagoland area. He also is a volunteer staff-photographer for Marry for Good, a Charitable Wedding Service that supports an orphanage in Haiti. Thomas is also working as a volunteer photographer for organizations/events such as: Make the Cut; and The Ladybug Project (which raises funds to continue to help children battling cancer and lend support to their families while they are seeking treatment), and also a proud volunteer for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
In the coming months, Slack Photography LLC will be working with Chicago animal shelters on several projects, including; calendars and fundraisers… all proceeds to benefit no-kills animal shelters.
Slack Photography specializes in just about every genre of photography you’re looking for. Kids, maternity, weddings, modeling comps, headshots, architecture, etc etc.
